Frames

Six hundred and forty, from £49.

The wall is in six parts: the own range most of Whitchurch wears, the independent designers, the children's rack, the sunglasses, the sport and safety frames, and the bench at the back where single-vision pairs are glazed in a day. Come in and try them on; no appointment needed.

Glazed here, in a day

Josh

Single-vision lenses are cut and fitted at the bench in the back room, so most everyday glasses are ready the same day. Varifocals come from the lab in five working days.

Sport and safety

Val

Wraparound sports frames with prescription inserts, swimming goggles in your prescription, and safety glasses certified for the workplace. Contact lenses for the sports that will not take a frame.

The fitting

A frame is measured to your face, your pupils and your prescription.

The frame you like is only half of it. Josh measures where your pupils sit in it, how it sits on your nose and ears, and whether its depth will take the lens you need, because a varifocal in a frame that is too shallow does not work however much it cost. Then it is adjusted on the day you collect, and again free whenever it needs it, for the life of the frame.

  • Pupil and height measurements for every pair
  • Free adjustments and minor repairs for life
  • Thirty days to change your mind about a frame, unworn
